Glorious days at the Hofgut !

What the harvest festival means to farmers, the Glorious Rheingau Days also mean to winegrowers. This series of events celebrates the successful grape harvest with winegrowers and wine lovers throughout the region at the beginning of November – and has been celebrated this way for more than 25 years. For one week, the Rheingau VDP wineries and top restaurateurs offer only the best from their cellars and kitchens, packed into a cultural programme. The focus is placed on wine and food, and wine lovers and guests who appreciate good food and therefore come to the region from all over the world.

There will be more than 30 enjoyable social events in the Rheingau during this period – and for the first time, one of them will also take place at Hofgut Georgenthal. Under the slogan “Putting Green meets Rheingau grapevine”, guests can look forward to an autumnal, regionally inspired five-course menu, composed among other things with Taunus deer and crayfish from local rivers, created and presented from the Hofgut kitchen by Jörg Holl and Daniel Lautenschläger. The individual courses are accompanied and atmospherically presented with the high-quality wines of Andreas and Bernd Spreitzer, owners of the VDP winery Josef Spreitzer in Oestrich, and Tim Lilienström, operations manager and cellar master of the VDP winery Georg Müller Stiftung (owner Peter Winter) in Hattenheim. While Andreas Spreitzer presents a suitable selection of his VDP.GROSSEN GEWÄCHSE®, CHARTA wines and noble sweet Rieslings, Tim Lilienström focuses on the Rheingau beyond Riesling and brings along wines and sparkling wines from Auxerrois and Spätburgunder.
