Discover the soothing atmosphere with all your senses!
What’s the meaning of forest bathing?
Forest bathing (“Waldbaden”) is the German translation for Shinrin Yoku. Shinrin Yoku is a reventive health measure in Japan which is generally recognised and supported by the government.
Forest bathing (“Waldbaden”) is a nature experience for body, mind and soul. Experience the forest with all your senses and discover new and more intense impressions than you have had so far during forest walks or excursions into nature. Just be here, look, listen, smell, feel or even taste.
Relax from everyday stress, slow down and recharge your batteries. The forest around Hofgut Georgenthal is ideal for a relaxing forest bath.
Embrace the trees, lean against them, relax, sit on the roots and absorb the aroma.
Erich Kästner (1899 – 1974) already knew the healing power of the forest (quote): “The soul becomes crooked from treading the pavement. You can talk to the trees like brothers and exchange your soul with them. The forests are silent. But they are not mute. No matter who may come, they comfort everyone.”

“The forest is a special being, of unlimited goodness and affection, which has no demands and generously gives the products of its life’s work: it provides shelter and shade to all creatures, even to the woodcutter who destroys it.”
Siddhartha Gautana Buddha (563-483 BC)
